I am a fully insured and registered human, equine and canine osteopath with over 12 years
of experience working in the bodywork industry.
My background
Growing up in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, I started my career in manual therapy in 2013, aged 17, by obtaining my Advanced Diplomas in Sports Therapy, Sports and Remedial Massage and Myofascial Release. I worked as a Sports Therapist for just under 3 years before pursuing a career in Osteopathy to complete my Master’s degree in Osteopathy at The British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019, graduating with Distinction.
My passion for manual therapy is derived from the injuries I picked up as an athlete. I started life as a competitive footballer before diversifying into modern pentathlon where I ranked fifth in the UK. I then went on to become a semi-professional cyclist for eight years before finding my way into triathlon in which I have won multiple National Age Group Triathlon Championships and podiumed at nine World and European Triathlon and Aquathlon Championships. This passion for sport has helped developed my special interest in treating sports injuries. During my time working as a Sports Therapist I have experience working with elite athletes including the New Zealand and Australian World Cup Rugby Teams during the 2015 Rugby World Cup, the England Rugby Team during the 2018 6 Nations and various NFL teams. I have also treated international standard triathletes and national level cyclists.
I am also passionate about my love for animals, owning two horses and three dogs this has developed a specialist interest in the treatment of equine and canine patients. I qualified with my PGCert in Animal Osteopathy in June 2024. On the course we had the privilege of gaining experience treating a variety of different equine models from the riding school ponies through to private livery horses and Noel William's race horses.
My approach
In both humans and animals l believe in assessing an individual with a whole-body approach to explore the root cause of the problem. I use a unique combination of skills and approaches that are tailored to each individual. These may include hands on techniques such as soft tissue release, joint mobilisations and manipulations alongside individualised naturopathic advice (human only), home-care advice, tailored exercises, kinesiology taping, cranial techniques, medical acupuncture (human only), shockwave therapy (human only) and instrumented assisted soft tissue manipulation (human only). I am passionate about building a strong report with both my human and animal patients to aid their return to health.
